Description

e-ILS is a flexible way of learning skills in Immediate Life Support, and blends e-learning with face-to-face workshops.

The objective of the course is to provide healthcare professionals and those who may need to act as the first responder in an emergency, with the knowledge and skills to manage a patient until more advanced help arrives

An e-ILS course provides skills including managing a deteriorating patient, identifying causes and treating a cardiac arrest, plus improving abilities as both a team member and leader.

Candidates are expected to have completed the e-learning modules and read the supplied manual before attending. The face-to-face session focusses on skill stations and cardiac arrest simulations.

Course content Includes

This course covers the same curriculum as the traditional ILS course and consists of lectures, skill stations and cardiac arrest simulations covering:

  • Structured assessment of the deteriorating patient
  • Recognition and management of the deteriorating patient
  • Prevention of cardiac arrest
  • Initial management and resuscitation of a patient
  • Adult basic life support
  • Safe defibrillation (AED or manual)
  • Airway management with adjuncts
  • Universal treatment algorithm for management of cardiac arrest

We are an accredited by the Resuscitation Council UK as a course centre for Immediate Life Support, Paediatric Immediate Life Support, Advanced Life Support, European Paediatric Life Support and Generic Instructor Courses. Our first aid courses are provided in association with QualSafe. All of our other courses are internally quality controlled to ensure the highest educational standards. As an organisation we have Skills For Health Quality Mark accreditation.

We have a dedicated training facility located in Archway, North London. However the vast majority of training we deliver is provided at client sites across the UK. We are able to undertake training at your venue as long as it is suitable for the booked course. We are also able to assist with securing a venue should this be required.

Where pre-course materials are required (ILS/PILS/ALS/EPALS/GIC) these will be dispatched in accordance with RCUK regulations. For ILS & PILS this is at least 2 weeks before the course date and for ALS/EPALS/GIC this will be at least 4 weeks before the course date

We aim to have all certificates issued within 5 working days of course completion. In most cases we are able to issue these within 24 hours.

We are able to offer both group bookings and individual course spaces for courses being run at our course centre in London

There is a Premier Inn only 5 minute walk away from the course centre. There are a number of other hotels nearby and it the course centre is only 15 minutes from Central London by underground
