Description:

This course is intended to give students an overview of the risks of load handling and how to reduce them. It is intend designed to meet the employers basic obligations under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 to avoid, assess and reduce the risk to its workers. The course has been designed especially for those who are required to move loads as part of their role and wish to develop their knowledge and skills in how to do so safely.

This course can be completed either face to face or via eLearning. The course includes:

  • An overview of Health and Safety Legislation including the Manual Handling Regulations.
  • Common injuries caused by Manual Handling
  • Long term consequences of injuries
  • Common Load Handling Hazards
  •  Completing a Risk Assessment for Load Handling
  • Overview of the TILE tool
  • Good manual handling techniques
  • Overview of Using Lifting Equipment and mechanical aids
  • Reporting Issues and accidents

We are an accredited by the Resuscitation Council UK as a course centre for Immediate Life Support, Paediatric Immediate Life Support, Advanced Life Support, European Paediatric Life Support and Generic Instructor Courses. Our first aid courses are provided in association with QualSafe. All of our other courses are internally quality controlled to ensure the highest educational standards. As an organisation we have Skills For Health Quality Mark accreditation.

We have a dedicated training facility located in Archway, North London. However the vast majority of training we deliver is provided at client sites across the UK. We are able to undertake training at your venue as long as it is suitable for the booked course. We are also able to assist with securing a venue should this be required.

Where pre-course materials are required (ILS/PILS/ALS/EPALS/GIC) these will be dispatched in accordance with RCUK regulations. For ILS & PILS this is at least 2 weeks before the course date and for ALS/EPALS/GIC this will be at least 4 weeks before the course date.

We aim to have all certificates issued within 5 working days of course completion. In most cases we are able to issue these within 24 hours.

We are able to offer both group bookings and individual course spaces for courses being run at our course centre in London.

There is a Premier Inn only 5 minute walk away from the course centre. There are a number of other hotels nearby and it the course centre is only 15 minutes from Central London by underground

All of our team are qualified clinicians and subject matter experts in their own right. All of our team have real life clinical experience of the subject matter which they are teaching. We have a robust professional development programme in place and all of our team are or are working towards instructorships recognised by the Resuscitation Council (UK)
